To The Point

Let's get to the point, ditch the round edge heels and clogs, and embrace your inner 80s power woman as our pointy friend makes a major come-back this year. The shoe that used to be synonymous to boring business attire or scary school teacher - does anyone remember Roald Dahl's Witches? - has hit the runway and street style with a 21st century twist. The classic form is still there but the add-ons are what makes them; ankle straps, intricate cut-outs, translucent heels interesting textures and of course the sophistication and power that comes with the point! Will you be wearing pointed shoes this season?

The Week in Pictures

Last week was one of the busiest I’ve had since moving to Calgary, but I still managed to find time to enjoy myself. Spring is finally here and I couldn’t be more excited. Every minute that I wasn’t at work was spent outside in the beautiful sunshine.

Two weeks ago I started working for Janine at her gorgeous little boutique called Adorn in Inglewood and - I’m not gonna lie – she might as well be paying me in clothes because my entire paycheck is going right back into her store.

Inglewood had its annual Girl's Night Out on Thursday, which was a great success, and between working at my 9 to 5 and Adorn, I somehow managed to squeeze in an amazing scenic hike through the Rocky Mountains near Banff and a delicious lunch at National on 17th Ave.
1. Mint-tipped flats - I actually found these at American Eagle of all places!
2. A snapshot of the springtime flowers that are finally decided to show up!
3. Taking a break on our hike through the beautiful Rocky Mountains near Banff, Alberta - My best friend messaged me in a panic asking if I was wearing a visor in this picture, and, just to clarify, I most definitely am not! haha. My hair is just sticking up from the wind!
4. Lunch at the National on 17th Ave. They make a lobster poutine (random much?) and it's AMAZING.
5. A gift with purchase at Inglewood's Girl's Night Out on Thursday.
6. Some gorgeous rings from Janine's own collection at Adorn.

I also met with the amazingly talented Tara Whittaker of Tara Whittaker Photography to talk about a collaboration, so keep your eyes peeled because you won't wanna miss my posts from the shoot next month! Hope you all had a great weekend!
